The Calculation of the Wavefront Aberration Polynomial

TL;DR: In this paper, a set of orthogonal polynomials that are particularly relevant to the ray fans used in optical design and evaluation were used to generate the wavefront polynomial in the radial pupil coordinate and the cosine of the pupil azimuth angle.

A unifying approach for the vectorial Rayleigh–Sommerfeld diffraction integrals

TL;DR: In this article, a unique approximation to the vectorial Rayleigh-Sommerfeld diffraction integrals (RSDI) is developed to study the diffraction properties of apertures illuminated with collimated, converging or diverging polarized waves.

An Analytic Recurrence Procedure for Computing the Cross-multiplication Coefficients in an Analytic OTF Method

TL;DR: In this paper, the cross-multiplication coefficients required in an analytic method for calculating the Optical Transfer Function (OTF) were computed analytically through the use of a recurrence relation.

Zernike circle polynomials and infinite integrals involving the product of Bessel functions

TL;DR: Several quantities related to the Zernike circle polynomials admit an expression as an infinite integral involving the product of two or three Bessel functions, which is evaluated explicitly for the cases of the expansion coefficients of scaled-and-shifted circle polynnomials, the Fourier coefficients, and the transient response of a baffled-piston acoustical radiator.
