A Rodinian suture in western India: New insights on India-Madagascar correlations

TLDR
In this article, the authors report detailed evidence for a new paleo-suture zone (the Kumta suture) on the western margin of southern India, which contains garnet-biotite, fuchsite-haematite, chlorite-quartz, quartz-phengite schists, biotite augen gneiss, marble and amphibolite.

An exotic Mesoarchean microcontinent: The Coorg Block, southern India

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present the petrology, geochemistry, zircon U-Pb geochronology and Lu-Hf isotopes of all the major lithologies from the Coorg block.

Formation of Archean (3600-2500 Ma) continental crust in the Dharwar Craton, southern India

TL;DR: The Dharwar Craton formed by assembly of micro-blocks with independent thermal records and accretionary histories is analyzed in this paper, which provides important insights into building of continents in the Early Earth.
Journal ArticleDOI

A geological synthesis of the Precambrian shield in Madagascar

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors summarized and integrated available U-Pb geochronology of the Precambrian shield of Madagascar into a synthesis of the region's geological history.
Journal ArticleDOI

Neoarchean continental growth through arc magmatism in the Nilgiri Block, southern India

TL;DR: In this paper, the formation and growth of continental crust in the Archean have been evaluated through models of subduction-accretion and mantle plume, and the authors showed that the Nilgiri block in southern India exposes exhumed Neoarchean lower crust, uplifted to heights of 2500 m above sea level along the north western margin of the Peninsula.

Subcommission on geochronology: Convention on the use of decay constants in geo- and cosmochronology

TL;DR: The IUGS Subcommission on Geochronology (FOOTNOTE 4) as discussed by the authors recommended the adoption of a standard set of decay constants and isotopic abundances in isotope geology.

Approximation of terrestrial lead isotope evolution by a two-stage model

TL;DR: In this paper, a two-stage model for terrestrial lead isotope evolution is proposed, which permits the age of the earth to be that of the meteorite system and also yields good model ages for samples of all ages.

Remote sensing and image interpretation

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a textbook for introductory courses in remote sensing, which includes concepts and foundations of remote sensing; elements of photographic systems; introduction to airphoto interpretation; air photo interpretation for terrain evaluation; photogrammetry; radiometric characteristics of aerial photographs; aerial thermography; multispectral scanning and spectral pattern recognition; microwave sensing; and remote sensing from space.

Remote Sensing and Image Interpretation

TL;DR: In this article, the concept of remote sensing elements of photogrammetry was introduced. Butterfly, thermal, and hyperspectral sensors were used to interpret multispectral, thermal and hypererspectral images.
