TLDR
Improvements to the scalable wideband speech codec based on the iLBC are presented, employing the wavelet packet transform (WPT) instead of the modified discrete cosine transform (MDCT) to enhance the quality, and the proposed codec outperforms G.729.1 at most bit rates according to the objective quality.

A new time–frequency representation based on the tight framelet packet for telephone-band speech coding

TL;DR: In this paper , a new time-frequency representation based on a tight framelet packet transform is proposed to improve the quality and intelligibility of telephone-band speech coding, which is obtained using dynamic bit allocation and optimal quantization of normalized framelet coefficients.

Ten lectures on wavelets

TL;DR: This paper presents a meta-analyses of the wavelet transforms of Coxeter’s inequality and its applications to multiresolutional analysis and orthonormal bases.

Ten Lectures on Wavelets

TL;DR: In this article, the regularity of compactly supported wavelets and symmetry of wavelet bases are discussed. But the authors focus on the orthonormal bases of wavelets, rather than the continuous wavelet transform.

Wavelets and signal processing

TL;DR: A simple, nonrigorous, synthetic view of wavelet theory is presented for both review and tutorial purposes, which includes nonstationary signal analysis, scale versus frequency,Wavelet analysis and synthesis, scalograms, wavelet frames and orthonormal bases, the discrete-time case, and applications of wavelets in signal processing.

Wavelets and Subband Coding

TL;DR: Wavelets and Subband Coding offered a unified view of the exciting field of wavelets and their discrete-time cousins, filter banks, or subband coding and developed the theory in both continuous and discrete time.

Capacity of a burst-noise channel

TL;DR: The capacity C of the model channel exceeds the capacity C(sym. bin.) of a memoryless symmetric binary channel with the same error probability; however, the difference is slight for some values of h, p, P; then, time-division encoding schemes may be fairly efficient.
