A thermodynamic analysis of fuel vapor characteristics in an aircraft fuel tank ullage

TLDR
In this article, a vapor-liquid equilibrium thermodynamic analysis was developed to assess the fuel vapor behavior in an aircraft fuel tank ullage, based on the Peng-Robinson equation of state and the extended corresponding-states method.

Loop system for creating jet fuel vapor standards used in the calibration of infrared spectrophotometers and gas chromatographs.

TL;DR: Comparisons of nominal concentrations in the exposure system to those determined by infrared spectrophotometry were in 92–95% agreement, showing the loop system to be a viable method for creating jet fuel vapor standards for calibrating instruments.

simulation of intelligent airborne sensor for interting system with compensation of temperature and presssure

TL;DR: In this paper, a tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS) was used to measure the oxygen concentration in the fuel tank of an aircraft, and the experimental results show that TDLAS can obtain higher accuracy by adopting the second harmonic detection method under noisy conditions, and can adapt to the high temperature and high pressure environment of the aircraft fuel tank.

A predictive extended corresponding states model for pure and mixed refrigerants including an equation of state for R134a

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors developed a predictive corresponding states model for the thermophysical properties of pure refrigerants and refrigerant mixtures using shape factors to ensure conformality among the various components.

A Predictive Extended Corresponding States Model for Pure and Mixed Refrigerants

TL;DR: In this article, a predictive corresponding states model for the thermo· physical properties of pure refrigerants and refrigerant mixtures is developed, which uses shape factors to insure conformality among the various components and R134a is used as the reference fluid.

Jet A Explosion Experiments: Laboratory Testing

TL;DR: In this paper, a series of experiments and analyses on the flammability of Jet A (aviation kerosene) in air are described. But the focus is on measuring basic explosion parameters as a function of fuel amount and temperature.
