J. S. Walther
- pp 379-385
TLDR
This paper describes a single unified algorithm for the calculation of elementary functions including multiplication, division, sin, cos, tan, arctan, sinh, cosh, tanh, arCTanh, In, exp and square-root.
Abstract
This paper describes a single unified algorithm for the calculation of elementary functions including multiplication, division, sin, cos, tan, arctan, sinh, cosh, tanh, arctanh, In, exp and square-root The basis for the algorithm is coordinate rotation in a linear, circular, or hyperbolic coordinate system depending on which function is to be calculated The only operations required are shifting, adding, subtracting and the recall of prestored constants The limited domain of convergence of the algorithm is calculated, leading to a discussion of the modifications required to extend the domain for floating point calculations

Modified CORDIC algorithm for computation of arctangent with variable iterations

TL;DR: The proposed CORIDC algorithm calculates the nearest predefined angle to the input phase at the beginning of every iteration and then rotates by an optimal angle and provides faster convergence speed that reduces the number of iterations with respect to the previous approaches.

Design and Implementation of Three-Phase Voltage Flicker Calculation Based on FPGA

TL;DR: Simulation results of waveforms and field-measured waveforms with voltage flicker disturbances are presented to show the validity of the flicker components obtained in designed IC.

Amplitude and frequency demodulation controller for MEMS accelerometer

TL;DR: The Vector Readout method of amplitude and frequency demodulation is described and shown to be a high precision, environmentally stable method of demodulations as mentioned in this paper, which uses a Hilbert Transform filter and the CORDIC algorithm to simultaneously estimate both the amplitude and phase of a signal.
