Performance characteristics of a solid oxide fuel cell hybrid jet engine under different operating modes
TL;DR: In this article, the performance and thermodynamic parameters of the engine under different operating modes are examined and compared according to the built mathematical models, and the simulation results show that the effects of operating modes on the engine are remarkably different from that on the traditional SOFC gas turbine hybrid systems for electricity generation.

Role of exergy in increasing efficiency and sustainability and reducing environmental impact
TL;DR: The use of exergy is described as a measure for identifying and explaining the benefits of sustainable energy and technologies, so the benefits can be clearly understood and appreciated by experts and non-experts alike as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Calculation for physical and chemical exergy of flows in systems elaborating mixed-phase flows and a case study in an IRSOFC plant
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors deal with the calculation of physical and chemical exergy of flows in systems elaborating mixed-phase flows, such as steam methane reforming and coal gasification systems.
Journal ArticleDOI
Exergetic effects of some design parameters on the small turbojet engine for unmanned air vehicle applications
TL;DR: In this article, some design parameters on the exergetic and energetic performances for a small turbojet engine for unmanned vehicles were analyzed based on theoretical data employed, and the results showed that any increase in compressor pressure ratio along with increase in flight Mach number results in an increasing exergy efficiency of the engine.

Sensitivity of exergy efficiencies of aerospace engines to reference environment selection
Jason Etele,Marc A. Rosen +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a turbojet engine over flight altitudes ranging from sea level to 15,000 m (∼50,000 ft) was analyzed to examine the effects of using different reference-environment models.
Journal ArticleDOI
Exergy analysis of a turbofan engine for an unmanned aerial vehicle during a surveillance mission
TL;DR: In this paper, an exergy analysis of a turbofan engine, being the main power unit of an UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) over the course of a surveillance mission flight, is presented.
