Development of robust and adaptive controller for blade testing machine

TL;DR: In this article, a cost effective blade testing machine is proposed to conduct ultimate static and fatigue tests according to wind turbine blade standards, and a new control unit is designed and implemented to track fatigue block loading in the frequency range of 1-3 Hz.

Parametric study of stress concentration in bolted lap joints between particulate metal matrix composite materials

TL;DR: In this paper, a three dimensional finite element model has been developed to study the effects of various design parameters on the structural performance of a lap joint made of metal matrix composites.

Yield and Plastic Flow in Composition B and TNT

J. Pinto, +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the yield strength and elastic properties of trinitrotoluene (TNT) and a composite (Composition B) of TNT and cyclotrimethylene trinitramine (RDX) have been studied by confined triaxial compression (uniaxial strain) as a function of temperature and strain rate.

Non-linear strain invariant failure approach for fibre reinforced composite materials

TL;DR: In this article, a non-linear isotropic hardening is introduced for the analysis of a nonlinear matrix in square and hexagonal fiber packaging geometries, which is used to predict the stress and strain concentration factors in a multi-cell array and shows the necessity of including the nonlinear response in the analytical approach in this theory.

Development of a hybrid piezoelectric and pneumatic miniature optical scanner for endoscopic applications

TL;DR: A new 3D optical scanner using piezoelectric and pneumatic mechanisms for in-plane, X-Y axes and out-of- plane, Z-axis mechanisms is reported, using a new generation of 3D endoscopes for GI cancer detection.
