Reciprocating Sliding Friction and Contact Stress of Some Thermoplastics Against Steel

TL;DR: In this paper, the sliding friction in reciprocating motion, plane on plane and dry contact between very smooth surface of a steel slider and three engineering thermoplastics: ultrahigh-molecular weight polyethylene, polyoxymethylene and PA 66 were accurately measured at ranges of apparent contact pressure varying between 25 and 800 kPa and sliding speed between 0.01 and 0.1 m s-1, using plastic samples whose surface roughness was fully characterized.

Novel biomass fly ash-based geopolymeric mortars using lime slaker grits as aggregate for applications in construction: Influence of granulometry and binder/aggregate ratio

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of aggregate granulometry and the binder/aggregate ratio on the engineering properties of green geopolymeric mortars is discussed, which can be used for masonry application in construction and predict potentialities and limits.

Mathematical Models for in-Plane Moduli of Honeycomb Structures-A Review

TL;DR: In this paper, a review of mathematical models for stress strain behavior of two dimensional honeycomb structures is presented and expressions for in-plane Elastic Moduli and shear Modulus are compared on same scale dimensions.
Journal ArticleDOI

In-plane effective shear modulus of generalized circular honeycomb structures and bundled tubes in a diamond array structure

TL;DR: In this paper, a generalized circular honeycomb structure and tube assemblies in a diamond array structure with no restriction on their thickness were evaluated for complete transverse elastic characterization and in analyses of hierarchical structures.
Journal ArticleDOI

Micropressure sensor fabrication without problem of stiction for a wider range of measurement

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a fabrication process for one or arrays of micropressure sensors, which is almost the reverse of the surface micromachining process used for the pressure sensor.
