The aim of this paper is to analyze the issues of data availability and query delay in MANETs and the possible solutions using data replication scheme along with the mobility prediction scheme.
Abstract
Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs) are one among the recent fields which are under development in wireless communication technology. MANET consists of nodes which move freely called as mobile nodes. It supports various applications such as military applications, video conferencing, rescue operations, online gaming, etc. All these application requires efficient data and file sharing among the users or nodes. For the efficient data sharing in MANETs, techniques such as data replication is used. MANET performance is directly affected due to the link failure which causes network partition and thus results in low data availability. Low data availability also causes increase in query delay and reduces the MANET performance. The aim of this paper is to analyze the issues of data availability and query delay in MANETs and the possible solutions using data replication scheme along with the mobility prediction scheme.
