Ge Mo-lin, +1 more
- 04 Feb 1982 -
- Vol. 108, Iss: 6, pp 411-415
TLDR
In this article, a closed expression for the commutators of chiral models was obtained, which summarizes the same set of commutation relations as recently uncovered for the hidden symmetry with a different set of off-shell transformations.

O(2, 2) transformations and the string Geroch group

Ioannis Bakas
- 10 Oct 1994 -
TL;DR: In this article, the 1-loop string background equations with axion and dilaton fields are shown to be integrable in four dimensions in the presence of two commuting Killing symmetries and δc = 0.

The group theoretical aspects of infinitesimal Riemann-Hilbert transform and hidden symmetry

TL;DR: In this paper, the group theoretical aspects of infinitesimal regular Riemann-Hilbert transforms are discussed with an eye to the comparison with the hidden symmetry transformations proposed by us before.

A simplified derivation of the Geroch group in two‐dimensional reduced gravity

TL;DR: In this article, a simple and explicit approach to the Geroch group for the vacuum Einstein equations with the metric tensor depending only on two variables (i.e., two-dimensional reduced gravity) is proposed.

Infinite dimensional lie algebras acting on the solution space of various sigma models

TL;DR: In this article, an infinite-dimensional Lie algebras of infinitesimal transformations acting on the solution space of various two-dimensional σ models are investigated. But the main tools are (i) Takasaki's interpretation [Commun. Math. Rev. Lett. 94, 35 (1984)] of the associated linear system in terms of points in an infinitedimensional Grassmann manifold and (ii) Mikhailov's reduction procedure [Physica D 3, 73 (1981)] for linear systems.

Gauge fields as rings of glue

TL;DR: In this article, the authors take the view that gauge fields can be considered as chiral fields on a loop space, both in classical and in quantum theories, and derive the equations of motion governing the propagation of the infinitely thin rings formed by the lines of color-electric flux.

Scattering of massless lumps and non-local charges in the two-dimensional classical non-linear σ-model

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that finite energy solutions of the field equations of the non-linear σ-model decay asymptotically into massless lumps.
Journal ArticleDOI

String Representations and Hidden Symmetries for Gauge Fields

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that gauge fields can be considered as chiral fields defined on the space of all possible contours, which leads to an infinite number of functionally conserved currents.

Remarks about the existence of non-local charges in two-dimensional models

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple derivation of the classical non-local conservation laws in two dimensions discovered by Luscher and Pohlmeyer is given. And several classes of models are shown to possess the same structure.
