The dynamics of product innovation and firm competences
TL;DR: This study examines how product innovation contributes to the renewal of the firm through its dynamic and reciprocal relation with the firm's competences through field research in five high-tech firms of varying age, size, and level of diversification.
Book
Guidelines on food fortification with micronutrients
TL;DR: Food fortification has the dual advantage of being able to deliver nutrients to large segments of the population without requiring radical changes in food consumption patterns.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity: Recent Instances for Debate
TL;DR: In this article, the authors review several approaches to include economic considerations in biodiversity conservation, and show cases where monetary valuation is relevant and other cases where it is controversial and even counterproductive, as it undermines the objectives of conservation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Does Customer Interaction Enhance New Product Success
Kjell E Gruner,Christian Homburg +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors assess the performance impact of the intensity of customer interaction in different stages of the new product development process and the characteristics of the involved customers, based on field interviews as well as statistical analyses of a sample in the machinery industry.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Primary Care Assessment Survey Tests of Data Quality and Measurement Performance
Dana Gelb Safran,Mark Kosinski,Alvin R. Tarlov,William H. Rogers,Deborah A. Taira,Naomi Lieberman,John E. Ware +6 more
TL;DR: The authors examine the data quality and measurement performance of the Primary Care Assessment Survey, a patient-completed questionnaire that operationalizes formal definitions of primary care, including the definition recently proposed by the Institute of Medicine Committee on the Future of Primary Care.

Journal ArticleDOI
A theory for multiresolution signal decomposition: the wavelet representation
TL;DR: In this paper, it is shown that the difference of information between the approximation of a signal at the resolutions 2/sup j+1/ and 2 /sup j/ (where j is an integer) can be extracted by decomposing this signal on a wavelet orthonormal basis of L/sup 2/(R/sup n/), the vector space of measurable, square-integrable n-dimensional functions.
Book
Organizational Culture and Leadership
TL;DR: A review of the book "Organizational Culture and Leadership" by Edgar H. Schein is given in this article, where the authors present a review of their approach to organizational culture and leadership.
Book
Man-Made Disasters
TL;DR: The need to understand disasters as discussed by the authors attempts to understand the origins of disasters, and three disasters analyzed the incubation of disasters errors and communication difficulties order and disruption information, surprise and disaster disasters and rationality in organizations.
Journal ArticleDOI
On the structure of linear graphs
Paul Erdös,A. H. Stone +1 more
TL;DR: The first result in this direction was due to Turân as discussed by the authors, who proved that a graph with kn vertices and Ck, 2n+1 edges always contains a complete graph of order k + 1.
Journal ArticleDOI
Maxima for Graphs and a New Proof of a Theorem of Turán
T. S. Motzkin,E. G. Straus +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the maximum of a square-free quadratic form on a simplex was investigated and the following question was suggested by a problem of J. E. MacDonald Jr.
