Non-Fourier Heat Conduction of Nano-Films under Ultra-Fast Laser

TL;DR: In this article , two-dimensional analytical solutions of heat conduction in nano-films under ultra-fast laser are obtained using the integral transformation method, and the results show that there is a thermal wave phenomenon inside the film, which becomes increasingly evident as the elapse of the lag time of the temperature gradient.

A model for saccular cerebral aneurysm growth by collagen fibre remodelling

TL;DR: The first structural model for saccular cerebral aneurysm growth is proposed, which is able to predict clinical observations and mechanical test results, for example, in terms of predicted aneurYSm size, shape, wall stress and wall thickness.

Inverse Problems in Heat Transfer: New Trends on Solution Methodologies and Applications

TL;DR: Applications of inverse problems are presented for cases of practical interest, such as the characterization of nonhomogeneous materials and the prediction of the temperature field in oil pipelines.

Inverse design model for radiative heat transfer

TL;DR: It is argued that inverse design techniques provide an alternative to conventional iterative design methods that is more accurate and faster, and can provide a greatly improved first estimate of a thermal design.

Estimation of parameters in multi-mode heat transfer problems using Bayesian inference : Effect of noise and a priori

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of a priori model on the performance of the algorithm at different noise levels in the measured data was analyzed and the results showed that the mean and maximum a posteriori estimates for thermal conductivity and the convection heat transfer coefficient were insensitive to the a priora model at all the considered noise levels for the single-parameter estimation problem.

A Bayesian approach for the simultaneous estimation of surface heat transfer coefficient and thermal conductivity from steady state experiments on fins

TL;DR: In this article, the authors explored the potential of the Bayesian approach to estimate multiple parameters from simple, inexpensive experiments on natural convection heat transfer from a vertical rectangular fin, where a vertical fin of rectangular cross-section is placed on two heated horizontal aluminium blocks of size 250×−75−×−10 (all in mm) that act as a horizontal base and hold the extended surface made up of mild steel of size.
