Abstract
This paper contains the study about the potential of India in terms of renewable energy sources. India has very large potential of renewable energy sources, with one of the biggest programs for the development of available renewable energy sources. Ministry of New and Renewable Energy Sources (MNRE) is the special ministry for renewable energy development in India, and it is the only country worldwide which has such type of special ministry. This ministry has set a target to grow the electricity produced from renewables to a very large amount until 2022, including doubling of the present wind power capacity, almost 15 times increase in solar power from April 2016. After completion of these targets, India would be amongst the top world leaders in renewable energy production.
