Attitude control for low lift/drag re-entry vehicles
TL;DR: In this paper, an attitude control system for a re-entry capsule with a low lift/drag ratio (0.3) is proposed, which is based on quaternions and on a sliding manifold approach.
Journal ArticleDOI
Shapes of RNA Pseudoknot Structures
Christian M. Reidys,Rita R. Wang +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, abstract shapes of k-noncrossing, σ-canonical RNA pseudoknot structures were studied, which represent a generalization of the abstract π′- and π-shapes of RNA secondary structures introduced by Giegerich et al.
Journal ArticleDOI
On the Stability of a Self-Similar Spherical Bubble of a Scalar Higgs Field in de Sitter Space
TL;DR: In this article, an exact generalized discontinuous solution of the spherical-bubble type is obtained for a scalar Higgs field in de Sitter space, and it is shown that the radius of such a generalized bubble evolves in accordance with one of the exact solutions to a dynamical problem considered previously for the bubble radius in the thin-wall approximation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Asymptotic approximation of long-time solution for low-temperature filtration combustion
Grigori Chapiro,Alexei A. Mailybaev,Alexei A. Mailybaev,Aparecido de Souza,Dan Marchesin,Johannes Bruining +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors consider the case when the reaction is active for all temperatures, but heat losses are negligible, and they develop a method for calculating the wave profile in the form of an asymptotic expansion and derive its zero-and first-order approximations.

On the reduction of singularly-perturbed linear differential systems
TL;DR: In this paper, the turning points of singularly-perturbed linear differential systems are treated and the singularity's rank is reduced to its minimal integer value, based on the reduction criterion introduced for singular linear systems by Moser.
