Governing Farmers through data? Digitization and the Question of Autonomy in Agri-environmental governance

TL;DR: In this article , the authors examined the role of big data in agri-environmental governance in Switzerland and pointed out that despite some discourses that present digitization as a tool to lighten administrative constraints and a way to aid in the independent management of agricultural activity, at the present time, digitization reinforces the bureaucratic approach to governance and the contribution of digital technologies to the interests of the farmers themselves remains minimal.

TL;DR: This paper presents a fuzzy approach based on Hadoop for discovering crops plantation knowledge from the agro-climatic historical database of the years from 1983 to 2016 of Egypt and shows the added value of the proposed approach against other works respecting the more suitable crops plantation dates, harvesting dates, expected diseases and follow up for crops water requirements.
