Boxed Ambients are a variant of Mobile Ambients that result from (i) dropping the open capability and (ii) providing new primitives for ambient communication while retaining the constructs in and out for mobility. The new model of communication is faithful to the principles of distribution and location-awareness of Mobile Ambients, and complements the constructs for Mobile Ambient mobility with finer-grained mechanisms for ambient interaction.read more

Categories of containers
TL;DR: In this article, the notion of containers is introduced as a mathematical formalisation of the idea that many important datatypes consist of templates where data is stored, and containers have good closure properties under a variety of constructions.

The kell calculus: a family of higher-order distributed process calculi
TL;DR: The paper provides a co-inductive characterization of contextual equivalence for Kell calculi, under sufficient conditions on pattern languages, by means of a form of higher-order bisimulation called strong context bisimulations.

Secure Data Flow in a Calculus for Context Awareness
Doina Bucur,Mogens Nielsen +1 more
TL;DR: A Mobile-Ambients-based process calculus to describe context-aware computing in an infrastructure-based Ubiquitous Computing setting and a type system enforcing security policies by a combination of static and dynamic checking of mobile agents is provided.

Bisimulation congruences in safe ambients
Massimo Merro,Matthew Hennessy +1 more
TL;DR: A variant of Levi and Sangiorgi's Safe Ambients enriched with passwords is studied and a labelled bisimulation based equivalence which is proved to coincide with barbed congruence is given.

Access control for mobile agents: The calculus of boxed ambients
TL;DR: The new calculus is introduced, the impact of the new mechanisms for communication of typing and mobility are studied, and it is shown that they yield an effective framework for resource protection and access control in distributed systems.

TL;DR: In this article, a calculus describing the movement of processes and devices, including movement through administrative domains, is introduced, and the authors introduce a calculus that describes the behavior of processes.

Controlling interference in ambients
Francesca Levi,Davide Sangiorgi +1 more
TL;DR: Two forms of interferences are individuated in Cardelli and Gordon's Mobile Ambients (MA): plain interferences, which are similar to the interferences one finds in CCS and φ-calculus; and grave interferences which are more dangerous and may be regarded as programming errors.

Seal: A Framework for Secure Mobile Computations
Jan Vitek,Giuseppe Castagna +1 more
TL;DR: The design choices of the Seal calculus are motivated, the syntax and reduction semantics of the calculus are presented, and its expressiveness is demonstrated by examples focused on security and management distributed systems.
