A nonlinear regularization method for the analysis of photon correlation spectroscopy data
TL;DR: In photon correlation spectroscopy, a time correlation function of the scattered light intensity is measured. Among other parameters, the relaxation time spectrum can be calculated from such measurement as discussed by the authors, which is usually done in two steps.

Mitochondrial ultracondensation, but not swelling, is involved in TNFα-induced apoptosis in human T-lymphoblastic leukaemic cells
TL;DR: It is concluded that TNF alpha-induced mitochondrial swelling and apoptosis are separate events and Mitochondrial ultracondensation is associated with the processes signalling apoptosis and is not a result of TNFalpha-induced apoptotic shrinkage.

TL;DR: Somatic hybridisation has an important role in complementing conventional breeding in providing the gross genetic structure of chloroplast, mitochondrial and nuclear genomes and can extend the transfer boundaries defined by sexual hybridisation.

Succinic acid monomethyl ester protects rat pancreatic islet secretory potential against interleukin-1β (IL-1β) without affecting glutamate decarboxylase expression or nitric oxide production
TL;DR: Rat pancreatic islets exposed to interleukin‐1β in the presence of succinic acid monomethyl ester apparently improves β‐cell function mostly by increasing the capacity of these cells to endure NO exposure and partial blockage of the Krebs cycle.
