Species-Independent Femtosecond Localized Electric Field Measurement

TL;DR: In this paper, an electric field aligns charges of individual atoms or molecules to be parallel to the field, allowing second-harmonic generation from a passing laser beam, which can be used to measure local electric field, for any gaseous species, with high spatial and temporal resolution.

Rapid breakdown mechanisms of open air nanosecond dielectric barrier discharges.

TL;DR: The experimental observations have revealed that, in the prebreakdown phase of a nanosecond dielectric barrier discharge, the externally applied fast-rising electric field is strongly enhanced near the cathode due to large accumulation of space charge, which then strongly enhances ionization near the Cathode.

Rapid formation of electric field profiles in repetitively pulsed high-voltage high-pressure nanosecond discharges

TL;DR: In this paper, the formation of electric field profiles has been observed directly for the first time in nanosecond narrow-gap parallel-plate discharges at near-atmospheric pressure.

Electric field measurement in an atmospheric or higher pressure gas by coherent Raman scattering of nitrogen

TL;DR: In this paper, the feasibility of electric field measurement based on field-induced coherent Raman scattering is demonstrated for the first time in a nitrogen containing gas at atmospheric or higher pressure, including open air.

Determinations of some hydrogen molecular constants

TL;DR: In this paper, an investigation of pressure perturbations of the fundamental rotation-vibration band of hydrogen has been carried out, where the electric field induced dipole spectrum and the stimulated Raman spectrum of hydrogen were used to measure spectral line frequencies at gas densities extending up to 280 amagat.

Measurement of electric fields in a plasma with the aid of the coherent four-wave mixing polarisation technique

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for the measurement of a homogeneous static electric field in an isotropic homogeneous plasma by coherent four-wave mixing (FWM) techniques is proposed and theoretically substantiated.
