Cold rolling behaviour of an austenitic Fe–30Mn–3Al–3Si TWIP-steel: the importance of deformation twinning

TLDR
In this paper, the evolution of microstructure and texture of a TWIP-steel during cold rolling was studied, and the presence of deformation twinning at low strains ( e 〈1 1 2〉 is dominant at every strain level.

Nanoscale origins of the damage tolerance of the high-entropy alloy CrMnFeCoNi

TL;DR: A synergy of multiple deformation mechanisms is identified, rarely achieved in metallic alloys, which generates high strength, work hardening and ductility, including the easy motion of Shockley partials, their interactions to form stacking-fault parallelepipeds, and arrest at planar slip bands of undissociated dislocations.

Strain Hardening of Hadfield Manganese Steel

TL;DR: The plastic flow behavior of Hadfield manganese steel in uniaxial tension and compression is shown to be greatly influenced by transformation plasticity phenomena as mentioned in this paper, consistent with a softening effect of twinning as a deformation mechanism and a hardening effect on the twinned microstructure.
