Comparative study on the joining performance of TiH2 and ZrH2 modified AgCu28 brazing alloys with pulsed laser welding-brazing
TLDR
In this paper, the authors investigated the addition of elemental Zr to improve the connection effect of alloys and showed that Zr-free brazing alloys inhibited the overproduction of the hard-brittle phase of Cu3Ti and formed other intermetallic compounds such as AgZr2 and Cu10Zr7, which were beneficial to the metallurgical joint.About:

Interaction between the third alloying element and the interfacial structure of AgCu-alloy brazed heterogeneous metal integration
TL;DR: In this article, the authors reveal that the presence of the third alloying element (typically Ti and In) would exert obvious effects not only on the interfacial structure between base material and filler, but also on the phase boundary properties of the main solid solution in the filler.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effect of Zn interlayer on microstructure and mechanical performance during TIG overlap welding-brazing of Al to Ti
TL;DR: In this paper, the sound joining of Al-Ti alloys with the addition of Zn interlayer was investigated, and it was shown that Zn was beneficial to enhance the wettability of weld metal on Ti alloy substrate and improve the weld appearance.

Active laser brazing of diamond onto 45 steel: Diamond flow behavior, microstructure and bonding strength
Kang‐Chuang Li,Mingjun Zhang,Cong Mao,Enchao Hu,Jian Zhang,Yong Le Hu,Kun Tang,Wei Hong Tang,Zhuming Bi,Yun Huang +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the influence of an active agent on the distribution and bonding properties of laser brazed abrasive particles experimentally in fabricating a diamond tool was investigated, and the experimental results demonstrate that the diamond particles in A-LB to flow to the central of the molten pool.

Effect of the Surface States of 1Cr18Ni9Ti Stainless Steel on Mn-Based Brazing Alloy Wetting
Chenghao Zhang,Huize Chen,Wei-Wen Yang,Qinlian Zhang,Bo Yang,Yazhen Hu,Chun Li,Dejun Gao,Xiaoqing Si,Junlei Qi,Jianbo Cao +10 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors investigated the wetting behavior of the Mn-based brazing alloy on the surface of 1Cr18Ni9Ti stainless steel and found that the surface roughness of substrates increases after sandblasting treatment.

Microstructural characterization and mechanical properties in friction stir welding of aluminum and titanium dissimilar alloys
Y.C. Chen,Kazuhiro Nakata +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the maximum failure load of joints reached 62% of Al-Si alloy base metal with the joints fractured at the interface, and the microstructure evolution and the joining mechanism of aluminum-titanium joints were systematically discussed.

Solid state diffusion bonding of titanium to steel using a copper base alloy as interlayer
A. Elrefaey,Wolfgang Tillmann +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a copper-based interlayer was added to the diffusion bonding process to prevent atom diffusion and migration between Fe and Fe or C. This technique provided a reliable method of bonding titanium to steel.

Suppression of intermetallic reaction layer formation by controlling heat flow in dissimilar joining of steel and aluminum alloy
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of the backing block on the formation of intermetallic reaction layer during laser welding of steel and aluminum alloy dissimilar materials has been investigated, and it was concluded that the thickness of the reaction layer could be suppressed by using a backing block (as a heat sink) for controlling heat flow in welding region.
Journal ArticleDOI
Some observations on the wetting and bonding of nitride ceramics
TL;DR: In this article, it was found that bonds formed by brazing with aluminium at 1000 °C could have shear strengths as great as 60MPa, which suggested that good brazings systems could be developed.
