Machine Learning Strategy for Accelerated Design of Polymer Dielectrics

TL;DR: This work addresses the issue of accelerating polymer dielectrics design by extracting learning models from data generated by accurate state-of-the-art first principles computations for polymers occupying an important part of the chemical subspace.
Journal ArticleDOI

Transport and structural characteristics of crosslinked poly(ethylene oxide) rubbers

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of chain end groups and crosslink density on mass density, glass transition temperature (Tg), free volume, and H2, N2, CH4 and CO2 transport properties of poly(ethylene oxide) rubbers was determined.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gas transport properties of Pebax®/room temperature ionic liquid gel membranes

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of room temperature ionic liquid on the microstructure, properties and performance of elastomeric block co-polyamide membranes was discussed, based on the 1- n -alkyl-3-methylimidazolium cation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Photoinitiated crosslinked degradable copolymer networks for tissue engineering applications.

TL;DR: Diethylene glycol was used to initiate the ring opening polymerization of D,L-lactide and epsilon -caprolactone, as well as combinations of the two monomers, leading to degradable networks that may be useful for tissue engineering applications.
Journal ArticleDOI

Upper bound of polymeric membranes for mixed-gas CO2/CH4 separations

TL;DR: In this article, a modified free volume theory was applied to interpret CO 2 /CH 4 separation performance in polymeric membranes, which satisfactorily describes the pure-gas upper bounds for various gas pairs including CO 2/CH 4, the effect of high pressure CO 2 on mixed-gas CO 2 and CH 4 separation properties, and the practical mixed gas upper bound for CO 2 or CH 4 separations.

Crystalline forms of isotactic polypropylene

TL;DR: In this article, the X-ray diffraction patterns of two crystalline forms of isotactic polypropylene, the β- and γ-forms distinct from the α-form described by NATTA1, have been recorded.
Journal ArticleDOI

Melting Point Depression and Kinetic Effects of Cooling on Crystallization in Poly(vinylidene fluoride)-Poly(methyl methacrylate) Mixtures

Toshio Nishi, +1 more
- 01 Nov 1975 -
TL;DR: In this paper, an analytical expression appropriate to the crystalline-amorphous polymer pair is derived from Scott's equation for thermodynamic mixing of two polymers, indicating that the system is compatible in the molten state.
Journal ArticleDOI

Crystallization and morphology of a bacterial thermoplastic: poly-3-hydroxybutyrate

TL;DR: In this paper, a number of interesting results on the physical properties of poly-3-hydroxybutyrate (PHB) were presented on crystallization kinetics, morphology of melt-and solution-crystallized PHB, the variation of lamellar thickness with crystallization temperature, and the assessment of some thermodynamic quantities.
