The determination of chromium species in natural waters

TL;DR: In this article, a method for the determination of chromium species has been developed and successfully applied to both fresh and sea water samples, which utilizes pre-concentration of total chromium, chromium(ni) and particulate chromium at natural pH with accurate and precise analysis by a single flameless atomic absorption procedure.

Nutritional role of chromium

TL;DR: The biological function of chromium is closely associated with that of insulin and most chromium-stimulated reactions are also insulin dependent, so proper chromium nutrition leads to a decreased requirement for insulin and also an improved blood lipid profile.

Differential determination of chromium(VI) and total chromium in natural waters using flow injection on-line separation and preconcentration electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry

TL;DR: Results obtained for sea-water and river water reference materials were all within the certified range for total Cr with a precision of better than 10% relative standard deviation in the range 100-200 ng l-1.
Journal ArticleDOI

Determination of chromium(III) and chromium(VI) in sea water by atomic absorption spectrometry

TL;DR: In this article, a method for the selective determination of chromium( VI) and chromium (III) in sea water is described, where chromium is quantitatively extracted with Aliquat-336 from weakly acidic (pH 2) sample solutions.

Factors controlling the concentrations of thirteen rare metals in sea-water

TL;DR: In this article, the concentrations of thirteen metals (Zn, Cu, Pb, Bi, Cd, Ni, Co, Hg, Ag, Cr, Mo, W, V) in sea-water were studied.

The spectrophotometric determination of chromium in sea water

TL;DR: In this article, the coprecipitation of chromium from sea water by several precipitates was examined and the results showed that chromium was separated from iron by anion exchange and determined spectrophotometrically using diphenylcarbazide.
