TLDR
In this paper, a general Fourier analysis of the Stokes parameters used for extracting the Mueller-Stokes matrix elements is made, and it is shown that by using an elliptically polarized beam in conjunction with a rotating half-wave plate only a d.c. and fourth harmonic terms arise whose coefficients are the Mueller Stokes matrices.About:

An experimental device for the dynamic determination of Mueller matrices
Eusebio Bernabeu,José J. Gil +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an experimental device for the dynamic determination of Mueller matrices which employs two rotating compensators and two fixed analyzers is described, which can be suitably arranged for the study of transmitting, reflecting or scattering samples.

Absolute Mueller Polarimeters Based on Dual-Rotating Imperfect Retarders and Arbitrary Ratio of Angular Velocities
TL;DR: In this article , the periodic intensity signal containing the information of all sixteen Mueller elements of depolarizing or nondepolarizing samples is determined for different ratios of angular velocities and non-ideal retarders, which are mathematically modeled with arbitrary retardances and take into account the possible diattenuating effect exhibited by both retarders.

Automated Mueller matrix ellipsometry
TL;DR: In this article, the application of rotating compensator ellipsometry (RCE) to measurements of the system Mueller matrix M of linear optical systems is reported, which extends a previously reported procedure for automated Jones matrix ellipsometric to include systems that depolarize light.
