Development of a novel spherical stator multi-DOF ultrasonic motor using in-plane non-axisymmetric mode

TLDR
In this article, a spherical stator multi-DOF ultrasonic motor using in-plane non-axisymmetric mode was proposed, which adopts the pair combination of three orthogonal in-planar non-axis symmetric modes to generate three types of elliptical motions at eight driving feet, which can rotate the rotor around X, Y and Z axes.

Performance comparison of two motion modes of a piezoelectric inertial linear motor and its potential application in cell manipulation

TL;DR: Experimental results indicate that the novel “forward–forward” motion mode can solve the backward motion problem and has the advantages of the speed, efficiency, and stability of the system, while the ‘forward–backward’ motion mode has the advantage of resolution and carrying capacity.
