TLDR
In this paper, the diffraction wave field and irradiance distribution for the case of Fresnel diffraction of a square zone plate were studied, and the authors showed that the irradiance distributions of the diffracted wave field were similar to those of the irradiated wave field.

Diffractive ophthalmic lens for correcting astigmatism

TL;DR: In this article, an artificial eye lens such as a contact lens or intra-ocular lens corrects astigmatism by two sets of substantially linear parallel zones arranged to diffract light predominantly into one order at one orientation.
Journal ArticleDOI

X-ray microscopy

TL;DR: The main advances have been in intense sources, principally synchrotron radiation and plasma sources and in X-ray optical components such as grazing incidence reflectors, multilayer mirrors and zone plates as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Diffractive performance of square Fresnel zone plates

TL;DR: A theoretical analysis and numerical simulations based on the Rayleigh-Sommerfeld approach have been developed analyzing properties such as the depth of focus and the intensity of the focus in terms of the number of zones as discussed by the authors.

Square Fresnel zone plate with spiral phase for generating zero axial irradiance

TL;DR: A type of square Fresnel zone plate with spiral phase for generating zero axial irradiance and Diffraction patterns of the zone plates with different generalized topological charges are given by numerical simulation, which suggests their potential applications in generating hollow beams.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental demonstration of square Fresnel zone plate with chiral side lobes.

TL;DR: The CSFZP beam pattern was implemented in an optical trapping experiment and was found to possess particle trapping capabilities, with a strong central focal spot and twisted side lobes.

Fresnel Zone Plate for Optical Image Formation Using Extreme Ultraviolet and Soft X Radiation

TL;DR: In this article, a new Fresnel zone plate was constructed which can focus ultraviolet radiation of any wavelength down to the soft x-ray region, using a set of thin circular gold bands made self supporting by radial struts.

On the Theory of Diffraction by Concentric Arrays of Ring-Shaped Apertures

TL;DR: In this article, the authors extended Lommel's problem to the case of a concentric array of ring-shaped apertures with arbitrary distribution of circle radii, and derived new expansions in complex power series for the amplitude diffracted by the annular array.
Journal ArticleDOI

Variations on the Fresnel Zone Plate

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of contrast in the Fresnel zone plate on the amplitude in the focal point due to a normally incident plane wave are obtained by direct evaluation of the FK diffraction integral.

Diffraction Characteristics of a Linear Zone Plate

TL;DR: In this paper, the focusing, resolving, and diffracting properties of a linear zone plate in the neighborhood of the principal positive focus were examined theoretically and experimentally using both elementary and Kirchhoff diffraction theory.
