TLDR
Wang et al. as discussed by the authors investigated the durability performance and deteriorated rules and mechanism of shotcrete lining in salt lake corrosion environment by using dry-wet (DW acid-soluble sulfate ion; and pH value of pore solution are tested using X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric-differential scanning calorimetry, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive Xray spectroscopy, RapidAir 457, and electrochemical method.

Durability of shotcrete for underground support– Review and update

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors shed light on the durability of shotcrete by revising the literature, highlighting what is missing and needs to be addressed, assessing how the knowledge about concrete durability can be transferred to shotcrete, and providing recommendations for durable shotcrete structures.
Journal ArticleDOI

Understanding of the deterioration characteristic of concrete exposed to external sulfate attack: Insight into mesoscopic pore structures

TL;DR: In this article, the mesoscopic pore structures in concrete were investigated under different types of sulfate exposure, such as chemical sulfate attack (CSA) and physical sulfate attacks (PSA), using a nondestructive testing technology.

Effects of curing methods of concrete after steam curing on mechanical strength and permeability

TL;DR: In this paper, the compressive strength, non-evaporable water content and permeability (air, water and ion) of steam-cured concrete were tested under different subsequent curing conditions.

Effects of metakaolin on the mechanical and anticorrosion properties of epoxy emulsion cement mortar

TL;DR: In this article, different sizes of metakaolin were introduced into epoxy resin emulsion concrete mortar (EECM) to improve mechanical and anticorrosion properties, and the effects of MK contents and sizes on the mechanical property, water absorption and chloride diffusion coefficient of EECM were studied respectively.

Direct shear behavior of sulfate-exposed shotcrete: Experimental and modelling research

TL;DR: In this article, a sulfate-damage shear model was proposed for shotcrete specimens considering the effects of normal stress and sulfate exposure time and the Mohr-Coulomb (M-C) criterion was used to calculate the nominal cohesion and nominal internal friction angle.

Resistance of concrete and mortar against combined attack of chloride and sodium sulphate

TL;DR: In this paper, the reciprocal influence of Cl− and SO42− was investigated for four mixtures, namely with Ordinary Portland Cement, High Sulphate Resistant cement, and with Blast-Furnace Slag (50% and 70% cement replacement).

Resistance of concrete against combined attack of chloride and sulfate under drying-wetting cycles

TL;DR: In this article, the combined solution of chloride and sulfate was investigated for three different mixtures, including fly ash and slag, and the results indicated that OPC specimens showed bigger deterioration compared with specimens with slag exposed to combined solution attack under drying-wetting cycles.

Concentration dependence of diffusion and migration of chloride ions: Part 1. Theoretical considerations

TL;DR: In this article, the chloride ion diffusion and migration processes in concentrated solutions are theoretically analyzed and the quantitative relationship between diffusion coefficient and migration coefficient is established, and the theoretical analysis shows that the effective chloride diffusion coefficient determined from the conventional diffusion or migration tests is not a constant, but rather is a complicated function of concentration.
