Vibration analysis of mechanical systems with utilisation of GRAFSIM and CATGEN software

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used the matrix hybrid graphs method and matrix block diagrams method for making analysis of mechanical systems vibrations, where the system is represented in the form as a matrix block diagram, and is analyzed in detailed way in the MatlabSIMULINK environment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Numerical Analysis of the Deformation of a Shearing Machine Tool under Excessive Blade Clearance

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used finite element software with an explicit solver to analyze the behavior of a guillotine shearing machine for metal sheet processing and found that excessive clearance overloads the machine considerably compared to normal clearance, owing to considerable lateral forces.
Journal ArticleDOI

Guillotine side trimming shear machine: A case study of plate mill in Bhilai steel plant

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe the problems faced by the steel industry as well as the necessary steps which should be taken for improvement of the productivity of STS machine and also it has made contribution to Bhilai Steel Plant by its growth and prosperity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dynamic analysis of two types of over-crank guillotine shears—a comparative study

TL;DR: In this article, two models of guillotine shearing machines, one with the drive shaft parallel to the blade and the other with a drive shaft perpendicular to it, are considered.
Journal ArticleDOI

Multi-Body Finite Element Analysis of an Inclined Scrap Shear with 1100 Tons of Capacity

TL;DR: In this paper, an analysis model of a commercial inclined scrap shear with a cutting force of 1100 tons is given in Solidworks, where the assembly of the system contains members, which are the frame, two flippers, clamp, and guillotine.

On the role of Rayleigh damping

TL;DR: In this article, an experimental investigation carried out on square and rectangular plates with various boundary conditions to determine the damping ratios for a few modes of vibration is reported, based on the experimental findings, the Rayleigh damping coefficients can be computed for subsequent use in the modal superposition technique.
