TLDR
In this article, a tsunami overflow-seepage-coupled centrifuge experimental system was developed and applied to investigate the concurrent processes, and to elucidate the mechanism, of the instability involving the scour of the mound/sandy seabed, bearing capacity failure and flow of the foundation, and the failure of caisson breakwaters, with high-resolution image analysis.

Numerical analysis of tsunami-like wave impact on horizontal cylinders

TL;DR: In this paper, a tsunami-like wave profile has been adopted by using a composition of solitary waves to simulate a real tsunami wave profile, and the impact of tsunami waves at submerged horizontal cylinders was numerically studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

Wave-Induced Liquefaction and Floatation of a Pipeline in a Drum Centrifuge

TL;DR: In this paper, the floatation of a buried pipe in association with wave-induced liquefaction of sand beds is discussed, and centrifuge wave tests in a drum channel are performed with viscous scaling.
Journal ArticleDOI

Physical modeling of the dynamics of a revetment breakwater built on reclaimed coral calcareous sand foundation in the South China Sea—tsunami wave

TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper performed several wave flume experiments to study the dynamics and the stability of a reclaimed calcareous sand foundation and the breakwater built on it, under the impacting of tsunami wave.
Journal ArticleDOI

Research on dam-break induced tsunami bore acting on the triangular breakwater based on high order 3D CLSVOF-THINC/WLIC-IBM approaching

TL;DR: In this article, high-order 3D coupled level set and volume of fluid (CLSVOF) based simulations about dam-break induced tsunami bore interacting with the stationary triangular breakwater was numerically investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Geosynthetic-sheet pile reinforced foundation for mitigation of earthquake and tsunami induced damage of breakwater

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used Geogrid, gabions and sheet piles for reinforcing a breakwater foundation model to reduce the damage caused by an earthquake and tsunami in coastal areas.

Image Correlation for Shape, Motion and Deformation Measurements: Basic Concepts,Theory and Applications

TL;DR: In this paper, a comprehensive overview of image correlation for shape, motion and deformation measurements is provided. But, the authors do not discuss the effect of out-of-plane motion on 2D measurements.
