ELECTRE III and IV Decision Aids in an Environmental Problem

TLDR
This paper gives a description and analysis of the use of ELECTRE III and IV decision aids in the context of choosing a solid waste management system in two different real applications in Finland.
Abstract
This paper gives a description and analysis of the use of ELECTRE III and IV decision aids in the context of choosing a solid waste management system in two different real applications in Finland. Both methods fit this context well in general, since the problem involves many criteria and many ‘decision makers’. The available data are imprecise, which also favours the use of outranking methods. In addition to the real applications, we also study the choice behaviour offered for decision makers in connection with these methods by looking at some test results obtained from randomly generated problems. In general, the results of ELECTRE III and IV do not differ substantially from those from the application of traditional value functions. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Ranking irregularities when evaluating alternatives by using some ELECTRE methods

TL;DR: In this article, rank reversals are reported to occur when the ELECTRE II and III methods are used in solving multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) problems and the results of these examinations show that the rates of the three types of ranking irregularities were rather significant in both the simulated decision problems and real-life cases studied in this paper.

Environmental impact assessment using the evidential reasoning approach

TL;DR: The ER approach will be used to aggregate multiple environmental factors, resulting in an aggregated distributed assessment for each alternative policy, and a new analytical ER algorithm will be investigated which provides a means for using the ER approach in decision situations where an explicit ER aggregation function is needed.

ELECTRE: A comprehensive literature review on methodologies and applications

TL;DR: The aim is to investigate how ELECTRE and ELECTRE-based methods have been considered in various areas, including area of applications, modifications to the methods, comparisons with other methods, and general studies of the ELECTRE methods.

A multivariate statistical approach to reducing the number of variables in data envelopment analysis

TL;DR: This paper describes a systematic statistical method for deciding which of the original correlated variables can be omitted with least loss of information, and which should be retained.

Evaluating sustainable fishing development strategies using fuzzy MCDM approach

TL;DR: In this paper, a non-additive fuzzy integral is proposed to cope with evaluation of fuzzy multiple criteria decision-making problems particularly while there is dependence among considered criteria, so the fuzziness and uncertainty of subjective perception should be considered.
