Energy Transfer Luminescence of Tb3+ Complexed with Oxyethylene Compounds Containing Xanthene

TLDR
In this paper, three polyether compounds (1-3) with more than two fluorescent moieties in the both terminals were synthesized, and their complexation properties with Tb3+ were discussed.
Abstract
Three polyether compounds (1-3) which have more than two fluorescent moieties in the both terminals were synthesized, and their complexation properties with Tb3+ were discussed. After formation of complex with Tb3+, sharp fluorescence lines were observed at visible region due to intramolecular energy transfer from xanthene chromophore to bound Tb3+. The correlation between energy transfer efficiency and ligand structure for three analogous compounds were investigated.

Potassium-Selective PVC Membrane Electrodes Based on Newly Synthesized cis- and trans-Bis(crown ether)s

TL;DR: In this paper, the structure-selectivity relationship obtained with crown compounds of different ring sizes revealed that bis-crownethers may have distinct advantages due to their binding affinities towards alkali metal cations by complexing ions forming 1:2 complexes with the relevant mono crown compounds.
