Thermal Conductivity of Cementitious Grouts and Impact On Heat Exchanger Length Design for Ground Source Heat Pumps

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the influence of fillers and admixtures on the thermal conductivity of backfill grouts and found that fillers such as silica sand, alumina grit, steel grit, and silicon carbide increased the conductivities of grout to values ranging from 1.7 to 3.3 W/(m ·K) (0.98 to 1.9 Btu/h·ft·F).
