Frequency modulation of a Gunn-effect oscillator by magnetic tuning
TLDR
In this paper, the frequency ranges of 600 MHz at 9300 MHz and 1200 MHz at 10900 MHz are covered with the aid of a ferrite-filled coaxial cavity and an applied static magnetic field up to 4900 Gs.Abstract:
Frequency-variation experiments of an X band Gunn-effect oscillator are described. Frequency ranges of 600 MHz at 9300 MHz and 1200 MHz at 10900 MHz are covered with the aid of a ferrite-filled coaxial cavity and an applied static magnetic field up to 4900 Gs. A qualitative explanation of the covered bandwidth is given by the variation of permeability.read more

Amplitude and Frequency Modulation of a Waveguide Cavity CW Gunn Oscillator
Wei Ching Tsai,F.J. Rosenbaum +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the characteristics of bias-voltage-controlled AM and FM of a CW Gunn oscillator are reported, and the loaded Q of the microwave oscillator circuit and the microwave impedance level largely govern these characteristics.

Miniature X band Gunn oscillator with a dielectric-tuning system
F.L. Warner,P. Herman +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, an X band Gunn oscillator weighing 1¼oz is described, which can be readily designed to give any required mechanical tuning range up to about 2 GHz, and it can be electronically tuned over about 70 MHz with a low-cost varactor.
