TL;DR: Photosynthetic physiology in three species of fucoids from Nova Scotia is examined, finding that the wings in older portions of blades of F. vesiculosus become considerably eroded relative to A. nodosum, where little to no erosion is apparent.

TL;DR: Results of the of the present study provide a strong indication that reproductive periods of the bladderwrack F. vesiculosus is tuned by environmental conditions, such as day length, although it cannot be entirely ruled out that genetic constitution may play a role, as well.

Gastropod communities associated with different morphologies of the intertidal seaweed Hormosira banksii

TL;DR: Results confirm that H. banksii is an important foundation species in the intertidal zone and suggest an influence of morphological traits, specifically thallus length, vesicle number and size, on the distribution patterns of gastropod species.
