TLDR
Acid secretion and rate of histamine formation in the gastric mucosa were determined in rats after injection of hog gastrin II, gastrin pentapeptide and some substituted analogues of the C‐terminal tetrapeptide of gastrin.Abstract:
1. Acid secretion and rate of histamine formation in the gastric mucosa were determined in rats after injection of hog gastrin II, gastrin pentapeptide and some substituted analogues of the C-terminal tetrapeptide of gastrin.
2. Accelerated mucosal histamine formation was induced by hog gastrin II, gastrin pentapeptide and those analogues which elicited acid secretion, whereas secretorily inactive derivatives did not alter histamine formation.read more

The effects of gastrin on the ultrastructure of rat stomach endocrine cells
TL;DR: The effects of a single injection of gastrin on rat gastric endocrine cells were examined ultrastructurally and as a corollary serum gastrin was measured by radioimmunoassay.

The effects of long lasting intravenous infusion of caerulein and some caerulein-like polypeptides on histidine decarboxylase activity of the gastric mucosa of anaesthetized rats.

TL;DR: Histidine decarboxylase activity was increased by caerulein, pancreozymin, pentagastrin and six caerulesin analogues in doses which elicited acid secretion, whereas doses inactive on secretion did not alter enzyme activity.

The constitution and properties of two gastrins extracted from hog antral mucosa.

TL;DR: This paper is the culmination of many years' work on the detection, isolation, physiological study, and now, large-scale production of gastrin, and the final product has been identified as two almost identical peptides (gastrins I and II).

Mobilization and formation of histamine in the gastric mucosa as related to acid secretion
TL;DR: In the course of this investigation, it was found that re-feeding as well as injection of purified gastrin evoked an elevation of HFC of the parietal cell-carrying mucosa (corpus) to many times the fasting level.
