TLDR
In this article, human saliva from secretors of groups A, B, O and AB was gel filtered on Sephadex G-200 and G-100 columns, and on thin layers and the eluates were tested for antigens by the haemagglutination inhibition method.About:

Methods for collecting individual components of mixed saliva: the relevance to clinical pharmacology.
KW Stephen,CF Speirs +1 more
TL;DR: Methods are described for collecting constituents of mixed saliva, viz. parotid, submandibular, monor gland and sublingual saliva and gingival fluid, which showed that few antibiotics could be found in mixed saliva or its main components but all were detected in gedival fluid.

Competition between ABO and Le Gene Specified Enzymes
TL;DR: The differences among the four combined A and Lewis phenotypes were only supported by significantly lower amounts of A antigenic determinants in A2Leb as compared to the other three phenotypes (A1 Leb, A1Led and A2Led), and no Lewis‐related difference could be detected in the amounts of B antigens between BLeb and BLed donors.

Gel filtration of ABH blood group substances : II. Individual gel chromatographic patterns of ABH substances in the saliva of secretors and non-secretors
A. Fiori,G.V. Giusti,G. Panari +2 more
TL;DR: The ABH salivary gel filtration pattern of a single subject is a stable individual characteristic and probably is genetically determined.

Competition between ABO and Le gene specified enzymes. II. Quantitative analysis of A and B antigens in saliva of ABH nonsecretors.
TL;DR: In the 3 radioimmunoassays, samples of nonsecretor Lewis positive donors (Lea) had less A or B antigens than samples ofNon secretor Lewis negative donors (Lec), suggesting that there is a competition between A orB and Le gene‐specified products.

ABH‐Blood‐Group Antigens and Glycolipids of Human Saliva
TL;DR: The findings together with data on stomach secretion led to the conclusion that ABH-blood-group antigens of saliva are exclusively of glycoprotein nature.

Protein Measurement with the Folin Phenol Reagent
TL;DR: Procedures are described for measuring protein in solution or after precipitation with acids or other agents, and for the determination of as little as 0.2 gamma of protein.
Journal ArticleDOI
Estimation of the molecular weights of proteins by Sephadex gel-filtration.
TL;DR: The results are similar to those of previous studies, where the objective was to establish a cause-and-effect relationship, rather than a straightforward relationship between the number of cells and the content of the molecule.
Journal ArticleDOI
The gel-filtration behaviour of proteins related to their molecular weights over a wide range
TL;DR: Correlation between elution volume, V(e), and molecular weight was investigated for gel filtration of proteins of molecular weights ranging from 3500 (glucagon) to 820000 (alpha-crystallin) on Sephadex G-200 columns at pH7.5.
