A Selective Encryption Scheme for H.264/AVC Video Coding

TL;DR: A selective encryption scheme which makes effective use of the data structure of NAL in H.264/AVC can keep the advantage of selective encryption algorithm while provide strong enough confidentiality, and meet the requirements of real-time processing and effective confidentiality.

Design of integrated multimedia compression and encryption systems

TL;DR: This research examines the limitations of selective encryption using cryptanalysis, and proposes another approach that turns entropy coders into encryption ciphers using multiple statistical models that can be applied to most modern compressed audio/video such as MPEG audio, MPEG video, and JPEG/JPEG2000 images.

Security Analysis of Multimedia Encryption Schemes Based on Multiple Huffman Table

TL;DR: A known-plaintext attack is presented to show that the MHTs used for encryption should be carefully selected to avoid the weak keys problem and two empirical criteria for Huffman table selection are suggested, based on which the stream cipher integrated scheme can be simplified.

A DCT-based MPEG-2 transparent scrambling algorithm

TL;DR: A new transparent scrambling algorithm is proposed that performs an arbitrarily degraded view of decoded picture by encrypting in DCT domain and is applicable to the broadcast systems such as DVB/ATSC, which use MPEG-2 as compression standard.

Motion vector encryption in multimedia streaming

TL;DR: This paper targets this security problem and illustrates attacks at two different levels that can restore useful video information using motion vectors only, and describes a new motion vector encryption algorithm called MVEA.
