Effect of Hydrogen on the Wear Resistance of Steels upon Contact with Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation Layers Synthesized on Aluminum Alloys

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of hydrogenation on the tribological behavior of two carbon steels (st. 45 and st. U8) upon their contact with super solid plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) layers synthesized on two light alloys (AMg-6 and D16T alloys as the analogists of the A 95556 UNS USA and AA2024 ANSI USA alloys correspondently) was investigated in the medium of mineral oil of the I-20 type.

The role of notch tip shape and radius on deformation mechanisms of 12Cr1MoV steel under impact loading. Part 1. Energy parameters of fracture

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyzed the impact loading curves and fracture energy of 12Cr1MoV ductile steel specimens and obtained qualitative description and quantitative parameters for major stages of ductile and brittle fracture depending on the shape of the notch and the stress stiffness ahead.

Hydrogen embrittlement of high-strength steel submitted to slow strain rate testing studied by nuclear resonance reaction analysis and neutron diffraction

TL;DR: In this paper, a relatively large commercial cold drawn pearlitic steel wires have been submitted to stress corrosion cracking under different environments, and nuclear resonance reaction analysis (NRRA) has been used to detect the presence of hydrogen and its quantity.

Mechanical behaviour of material of thermal power plant steam superheater collector after exploitation

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors dealt with the comprehensive research of temperature influence upon fracture energy of operational 12Cr1MoV steel of steam superheater collector of TP-100 type boiler.

Slow strain rate testing for monitoring cracking of mild steels for vessels and pipes for processing using caustic solutions

TL;DR: In this article, the application of slow strain rate (SSR) testing as a laboratory method to characterize caustic cracking susceptibility of mild steels was investigated. But the results suggest that the mild steel is susceptible to caustric cracking in a very narrow window of strain rates (around 3×10−7 ǫ s−1).

On thermally induced multiple cracking of a surface: an experimental study

TL;DR: In this paper, an experimental study of the thermally induced surface multiple cracking on the example of steam superheater collector was carried out and the histograms and cumulative distribution functions of crack lengths and the inclination angles with respect to the axes of fastening pipes holes were obtained.
