Chemical and Biological Protection and Detection in Fabrics for Protective Clothing

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed new technologies being built into advanced fabrics for enhanced chemical and biological protection include selectively permeable membranes, reactive nanoparticles, reactive nanofibers, biocidal fabric treatments, and conductive-polymer indicators on optical fibers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Formation of single-bonded (C60-)2 and (C70-)2 dimers in crystalline ionic complexes of fullerenes.

TL;DR: It is shown that C(60)(.-) exists as a single-bonded diamagnetic (C60-)2 dimer in 1, 2, 4, 5, and 8 at low temperatures and only above 250-360 K.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sarin: health effects, metabolism, and methods of analysis

TL;DR: Toxicity from sarin significantly increased following concurrent exposure to other chemicals such as pyridostigmine bromide, and further research to examine effects of sarin on the cellular and the molecular levels, gene transcription, endocrine system as well as its long-term impact is needed.
Journal ArticleDOI

The maximin principle of pi-radical packings.

TL;DR: In this paper, a two-term model is proposed for hydrocarbon and N-containing π-radicals which are in close contact with one another, and the model is applied to dimers where intermolecular contacts are closer than <0.95 × the sum of the atomic van der Waals radii.
