Identification of piecewise affine systems via mixed-integer programming

TLDR
This paper provides algorithms based on mixed-integer linear or quadratic programming which are guaranteed to converge to a global optimum of hybrid dynamical systems, and suggests a way of trading off between optimality and complexity by using a change detection approach.

Predictive Control for Linear and Hybrid Systems

TL;DR: Predictive Control for Linear and Hybrid Systems is an ideal reference for graduate, postgraduate and advanced control practitioners interested in theory and/or implementation aspects of predictive control.
Journal ArticleDOI

Perspectives on System Identification

TL;DR: This presentation aims at giving an overview of the “science” side of System identification, i.e. basic principles and results and at pointing to open problem areas in the practical, “art”, side of how to approach and solve a real problem.

A bounded-error approach to piecewise affine system identification

TL;DR: This paper proposes a three-stage procedure for parametric identification of piecewise affine autoregressive exogenous (PWARX) models and imposes that the identification error is bounded by a quantity /spl delta/.
Journal ArticleDOI

Identification of hybrid systems - A tutorial

TL;DR: In this paper, the identification of hybrid models with a hybrid structure is discussed, and the main features of the selected procedures are presented, and possible interactions to still enhance their effectiveness are suggested.

Identification of hybrid systems : A tutorial

TL;DR: Four different approaches for the identification of switched affine and piecewise affine models are focused on, namely an algebraic procedure, a Bayesian procedure, an clustering-based procedure, and a bounded-error procedure.

Multiple Lyapunov functions and other analysis tools for switched and hybrid systems

TL;DR: Bendixson's theorem is extended to the case of Lipschitz continuous vector fields, allowing limit cycle analysis of a class of "continuous switched" systems.

Control of systems integrating logic, dynamics, and constraints

TL;DR: A predictive control scheme is proposed which is able to stabilize MLD systems on desired reference trajectories while fulfilling operating constraints, and possibly take into account previous qualitative knowledge in the form of heuristic rules.

Nonlinear black-box modeling in system identification: a unified overview

TL;DR: What are the common features in the different approaches, the choices that have to be made and what considerations are relevant for a successful system-identification application of these techniques are described, from a user's perspective.

A unified framework for hybrid control: model and optimal control theory

TL;DR: This work introduces a mathematical model of hybrid systems as interacting collections of dynamical systems, evolving on continuous-variable state spaces and subject to continuous controls and discrete transitions, and develops a theory for synthesizing hybrid controllers for hybrid plants in all optimal control framework.
