TLDR
In this article, a systematic review of the scientific literature was performed, which identified 13 studies with appropriate comparators (such as untreated controls), and Meta-analysis of these data indicated that grazing can result in an increase in the ratio of grassland to ericoid shrub cover, but insufficient experimental evidence was available to assess the effectiveness of any other intervention, indicating a lack of replicated studies with controls.About:

Grazing vs. mowing: A meta-analysis of biodiversity benefits for grassland management
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared the effects of mowing and grazing on grassland biodiversity and found that grazing had a more positive effect on the conservation value of semi-natural grasslands compared to mowing, but effect sizes were generally small to moderate for most contrasts.

Meta-analysis in applied ecology.
TL;DR: This overview examines research synthesis in applied ecology and conservation, finding vote counting and pooling unweighted averages are widespread despite the superiority of syntheses based on weighted combination of effects.

13. Recovering Missing or Partial Data from Studies: A Survey of Conversions and Imputations for Meta-analysis
TL;DR: This chapter discusses possible solutions for dealing with partial information and missing data from published studies, and proposes multipleimputation methods that account for the uncertainty associated with filling gaps of information when performing metaanalysis.

Land use change to bioenergy: A meta-analysis of soil carbon and GHG emissions
TL;DR: A systematic review and meta-analysis were used to assess the current state of knowledge and quantify the effects of land use change (LUC) to second generation (2G), non-food bioenergy crops on soil organic carbon (SOC) and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of relevance to temperate zone agriculture as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
Heathlands confronting global change: drivers of biodiversity loss from past to future scenarios
TL;DR: It is essential to address the effects of not only individual factors, but their interactions, together with land-use history, on heathland development and conservation in order to predict habitat response to future scenarios.

Bias in meta-analysis detected by a simple, graphical test
TL;DR: Funnel plots, plots of the trials' effect estimates against sample size, are skewed and asymmetrical in the presence of publication bias and other biases Funnel plot asymmetry, measured by regression analysis, predicts discordance of results when meta-analyses are compared with single large trials.

Meta-Analysis in Clinical Trials*
TL;DR: This paper examines eight published reviews each reporting results from several related trials in order to evaluate the efficacy of a certain treatment for a specified medical condition and suggests a simple noniterative procedure for characterizing the distribution of treatment effects in a series of studies.

TL;DR: This paper presents a meta-analysis of the results of independent Experiments combining the Results of Independent Experiments and ANCOVA to derive nonparametric and Randomization approaches to ANOVA.
