Study on the weldability, microstructure and mechanical properties of thick Inconel 617 plate using narrow gap laser welding method

TL;DR: In this paper, a multi-pass narrow-gap welding of thick Inconel 617 plate was conducted with YLS-10000 fiber laser, and the influence of different welding parameters on the joint geometry and defects was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental investigation on high-temperature tensile behaviour of cold metal transfer pulse multi-control welding of Inconel 617 alloy

TL;DR: In this paper , the microstructural features and tensile characteristics of welded joints made using the cold metal transfer (CMT) plus pulse multi-control (PMC) by varying the wire feed speed (8.9, 9.4, and 9.9 m/min) at room and high temperatures (650, 700, and 750 °C) were examined.

Improvement of Microstructure and Mechanical Behavior of Gas Tungsten Arc Weldments of Alloy C-276 by Current Pulsing

TL;DR: In this paper, the possibility of suppressing microsegregation in weldments by resorting to current pulse was investigated, and the results showed that the joints fabricated with pulsed current gave rise to narrower welds with practically no heat affected zone, a refined microstructure in the fusion zone, reduced micro-segregation, and superior combination of mechanical properties.

Effects of surface alloying on microstructure and wear behavior of ductile iron surface-modified with a nickel-based alloy using shielded metal arc welding

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of surface alloying on the microstructure and wear behavior of ductile iron was studied using optical microscopy and X-ray diffractometry, which revealed that cladded layers consist of austenite (Fe, C), γ(Fe, Ni), and small quantities of carbides such as Cr7C3.
Journal ArticleDOI

A comparative study on fiber laser and CO2 laser welding of Inconel 617

TL;DR: In this article, a comparative study on the influence of fiber laser welding and CO2 laser welding on the weld bead geometry and the microstructure of fusion zone (FZ) of Inconel 617 was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microstructural study and wear behavior of ductile iron surface alloyed by Inconel 617

TL;DR: In this article, the microstructure and wear behavior of Ni-based alloy is discussed in detail using tungsten inert gas welding process, coating of nearly 1-2mm thickness was deposited on ductile iron.
