TL;DR: In this paper, the crystal structures of the ThCr2Si2-type compounds MRu2P2 (M = Ca, Sr, Ba, Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Yb), MRuAs2 (m, s, eu), and MRuRu2p2 (n, r) were refined from single-crystal diffractometer data to residuals of R = 0.019 (224 structure factors, 11 variable parameters) and R
Journal ArticleDOI

Magnetic properties of ternary lanthanoid transition metal arsenides studied by Mössbauer and susceptibility measurements

TL;DR: In this article, the magnetic properties of the ThCr 2 Si 2 -type arsenides EuM 2 As 2 (M = Fe, Co, Ni, Pd) and the new compounds LnFeAs (Ln = La, Ce, Pr, Nd) with PbFCl-type structure were investigated and the Eu compounds exhibit antiferromagnetic ordering of the europium sublattices.
Journal ArticleDOI

A study of compounds GdT2Si2 by Mössbauer spectroscopy and by bulk magnetization measurements

TL;DR: In this paper, a strong influence of the transition metal d-band filling Z nd on many properties is inferred from the similarity of the variation of these properties with Znd for the three transition metal rows.

Magnetic properties of CaNi2P2 and the corresponding lanthanoid nickel phosphides with ThCr2Si2 type structure

TL;DR: In this article, a band structure model derived from Zintl's concept is used to model the magnetic properties of CaNi 2 P 2, LaNi 2 p 2, GdNi 2p 2, and SmNi 2P 2 with a Neel temperature of 10.5 K.

Charge Fluctuations in Europium in Metallic Eu Cu 2 Si 2

TL;DR: In this paper, an absorption line with a strongly temperature-dependent isomer shift was found in the 21.6-keV ray of an electron between the localized $4f$ level and the conduction band.

Paramagnetic Susceptibilities of Metallic Samarium Compounds

TL;DR: In this paper, a theory of the susceptibility of metallic samarium materials is developed which takes account of these polarization effects and of interionic Heisenberg exchange couplings, the admixture of the $J=\frac{7}{2}$ state into the ground state, which is assumed to be the only one to be thermally populated, but which does not take account of crystal-field splittings.

Magnetic order and hyperfine interactions in RFe6Al6 (R = rare earth)

TL;DR: In the case of R Fe 6 Al 6 (R = Y, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm and Yb), the magnetization curves start with low values at low temperatures and rise to very high values at T max ~ 230 K and then drop to 0 at T c ~ 330 K as discussed by the authors.

Mössbauer studies of valence fluctuations

TL;DR: In the last decade, the Mossbauer technique has made a considerable contribution to the research of the phenomena of mixed valencies, valence instabilities and fluctuating intermediate valencies of transition elements.
