TLDR
Following the administration of horseradish peroxidase in the middle or lower cervical cord segments of neonatal, developing and mature albino rats, labeled pyramidal neurons were found in layer V of the cerebral cortex and formed one continuous band of labeled neurons in the frontal and parietal isocortex in neonatal animals.

Cyclic AMP phosphodiesterases are localized in regions of the mouse brain associated with reinforcement, movement, and affect.

TL;DR: The data support the notion that rolipram, the PDE4‐specific inhibitor that acts as an antidepressant in humans, may mediate its behavioral effects through Pde4B, which is highly localized to neural pathways known to underlie reward and affect in mammals.

The origin of corticospinal projection neurons in rat

TL;DR: The distribution of corticospinal projection neurons in adult rats was determined using a retrograde tracing technique using Horseradish peroxidase and an emulsifier and HRP-positive neurons were distributed in area 4 and rostral area 6/8 and medial area 3 and caudal area 2 (somatosensory cortices).

The transient corticospinal projection from the occipital cortex during the postnatal development of the rat

TL;DR: The transient occipital cortical component of the pyramidal tract which was previously identified during the postnatal development of the rat has been studied with anterograde as well as retrograde techniques to identify retrogradely labeled layer V neurons.

Tetramethyl benzidine for horseradish peroxidase neurohistochemistry: a non-carcinogenic blue reaction product with superior sensitivity for visualizing neural afferents and efferents.:

TL;DR: The sensitivity of this new method in demonstrating retrograde transport is markedly superior to that of the previously described benzidine dihydrochloride method and, as a consequence, many efferent connections of the injection site are also visualized.

Organization of motor and somatosensory neocortex in the albino rat

TL;DR: The extent and organization of motor (MsI) and somatosensory (SmI) cortex in the rat were investigated using intracortical stimulation with semi-microelectrodes and single- or multiple-unit recording techniques to find overlap was essentially complete for the hindlimb, but only partial for the forelimb.

The prefrontal cortex of the rat. I. cortical projection of the mediodorsal nucleus. II. efferent connections

TL;DR: The rat's MD-projection cortex differs from that in the monkey in that it lacks a granular layer and appears to have no prominent direct associations with temporal and juxtahippocampal areas, suggesting that the striatum or thalamus receives a proportionally larger share of the MD projection in this animal than it does in themonkey.
