Magnetic susceptibilities and anisotropy studies of holmium pyrogermanate (Ho2Ge2O7) crystal

TL;DR: In this article, the magnetic susceptibilities and anisotropy of holmium pyrogermanate between 300 and 27 K were reported for the first time, and the results were best fitted with CF parameters B 20 =−150; B 20=300; B 60 =−400; B 65 =1500 (all in cm −1 ).
Journal ArticleDOI

Measurements of the magnetic susceptibility and anisotropy of Tb2Ge2O7 single crystal

TL;DR: In this article, magnetic susceptibilities χa and the anisotropy χc=Δχ in the ac-plane of the tetragonal crystal of Tb2Ge2O7 or TbPG were measured between 300 and 23 K.
Journal ArticleDOI

A study of the magnetic, thermal, and optical absorption properties in Ho(OH) 3 crystal

TL;DR: In this paper, the mean susceptibilities and molar anisotropies of pure Ho(OH)3 crystals were determined by fitting the experimental results of K, K∥-K∥, K ∥ and K⊥ ǫ simultaneously in the temperature region studied, and determined the crystal field parameters (CFP) more accurately than was possible from an analysis of spectral data which are not very informative in this crystal.
Journal ArticleDOI

Crystal field studies on magnetic and nuclear properties of Yb2Ti 2O7

TL;DR: In this paper, a rigorous crystal field (CF) calculation was adopted to analyse consistently the observed experimental results of average magnetic susceptibility and Mossbauer spectra of Yb2Ti2O7, thereby resolving the previous discrepancy in determining the values of the CF parameters by earlier workers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Magnetic studies on trivalent Er diglycollate

TL;DR: In this paper, the magnetic susceptibilities and their anisotropy in single crystals of ErDG in the temperature range of 300-22 K were measured for the first time and it was associated with a possible rotation of each of the three structurally equivalent lanthanide sites in the unit cell without destroying the overall trigonal symmetry of the crystal field.
