Journal ArticleDOI
Development of dynamic response analysis algorithm for beam structures using transfer of mass coefficient
TL;DR: In this article, the authors developed the transfer mass coefficient method (TMCM) in order to compute effectively the dynamic response of a beam structure, which can remarkably decrease the computation time of the direct integration method without the loss of accuracy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Design and characterization of the lateral actuator of a bimodal tactile display with two excitation directions
TL;DR: A bimodal tactile display used to stimulate the mechanoreceptors is proposed and the lateral actuator works well under real conditions, using imitation human skin as the contact material and with a weight of 50 g.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Aeroelastic modelling of a Piezo-solar tensioned energy harvesting ribbon
Punnag Chatterjee,Matthew Bryant +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a multifunctional compliant structure is proposed that can harvest electrical power from both incident sunlight and ambient mechanical energy including wind flow or vibration, taking this motivation forward a system model of the energy harvester is developed which captures the structural response of the solar ribbon and couples it with Theodorsen unsteady aerodynamics to predict the flutter boundary conditions as a function of applied axial preload tension.
Journal ArticleDOI
Out-Of-Plane Free Vibration Characteristics of Symmetric Cross-Ply Laminated Composite Arches with Deep Curvature
TL;DR: In this article, a parametric study on the free vibration frequencies of symmetric cross-ply laminated arches with constant curvature is performed based on the first order shear deformation theory.
