TLDR
In this article, an antifungal metabolite of Helminthosporium monoceras is shown to be 2,3,3a,9b-tetrahydro-6-hydroxy-7,8-dimethoxy-2-n-propyl-5H-furo[3,2-c][2]benzopyran-5-one (Ia).Abstract:
Monocerin, an antifungal metabolite of Helminthosporium monoceras, is shown to be 2,3,3a,9b-tetrahydro-6-hydroxy-7,8-dimethoxy-2-n-propyl-5H-furo[3,2-c][2]benzopyran-5-one (Ia). Structures are also assigned to three related metabolites—hydroxymonocerin (Id), monocerone (Ie), and monocerolide (V).read more

Bioactive isocoumarins isolated from the endophytic fungus Microdochium bolleyi.
TL;DR: Three new isocoumarin derivatives were isolated together with monocerin from Microdochium bolleyi, an endophytic fungus from Fagonia cretica, a herbaceous plant of the semiarid coastal regions of Gomera and showed good antifungal, antibacterial, and antialgal activities against Microbotryum violaceum, Escherichia coli, Bacillus megaterium, and Chlorella fusca.

Production of the polyketide 6-MSA in yeast engineered for increased malonyl-CoA supply
TL;DR: In order to improve the production of 6-MSA by enhancing the supply of precursors, the promoter of the gene (ACC1) encoding acetyl-CoA carboxylase was replaced with a strong, constitutive promoter (TEF1p) in a strain harboring two plasmids carrying the genes encoding 6-MSAS.

TL;DR: Isocoumarins 1-3 and phthalide 6 showed potent antioxidant activity and the C-7 hydroxyl group in 2 and 4 might be important for radical scavenging activities.
