Minimal repair models with non-negligible repair time

TLDR
Taking random repair time into account, several calendar time-based minimal repair policies, including periodic replacement policy with minimal repair, reference time policy, and bivariate T − N maintenance policy are generalized and the system long-run average cost rate under each minimal repair policy is gained explicitly.

Reliability assessment of repairable systems with series-parallel structure subjected to hierarchical competing risks under minimal repair regime

TL;DR: In this article , the authors propose a model that allows to evaluate the failure times of a single repairable system represented hierarchically, exposed to competing risks and under a minimal repair framework.

On a parametric model for the mean number of system repairs with applications

TL;DR: In this paper , a parametric function for the mean number of repairs of the system that covers a wide range of repair degrees, such as better than minimal repair, minimal repair and worse than minimal repairs, is proposed.

Optimal warranty option and post-warranty maintenance strategy under a warranty menu: from a consumer perspective

TL;DR: In this paper , an integrated model of warranty and post-warranty maintenance under a flexible renewable warranty is proposed, which takes into account repair limits and multiple failure types with time-varying probabilities.
Journal ArticleDOI

Quantification of Uncertainty of Warranty Claims

TL;DR: In this article , the authors provide an introductory overview of the approaches to modelling warranty claims and suggest that models that can reflect real-world claim patterns should be the focus studied by researchers in the future.

Optimum Preventive Maintenance Policies

TL;DR: In this paper, two types of preventive maintenance policies are considered, and the optimum policies are determined, in each case, as unique solutions of certain integral equations depending on the failure distribution.

Product warranty management. I : A taxonomy for warranty policies

TL;DR: In this article, a taxonomy for product warranty policies is presented to assist the manager responsible for a product warranty in choosing appropriate alternatives for evaluation before a final choice is made, and the taxonomy can be used to compare different types of warranty policies.

An Optimal Decision Rule for Repair vs Replacement

TL;DR: In this paper, a policy for either repairing or replacing a system that has failed is presented, where the policy applies to systems whose mean residual life function is decreasing and is motivated in terms of an automobile replacement problem.
