Toward more realistic social distancing policies via advanced feedback control

TL;DR: A feedback control where the transmission rate, i.e., the control variable, is piecewise constant and remains constant during an appreciable time interval so that strict extended lockdowns may be avoided.

Modeling Social Groups, Policies and Cognitive Behavior in COVID-19 Epidemic Phases. Basic Scenarios

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of restrictions in contacts and travels, filtered by the risk perception, according with the growth of the number of infected or recovered people, is analyzed. And the authors obtain several coarse-grained scenarios, that can be used for instance to calibrate the level of restrictions so not to exceed the capacity of the health system, and to speed the post-emergency recovery.

Performance of COVID-19 Surveillance System as Timely Containment Strategy in Western Oromia, Ethiopia.

TL;DR: It is reasonable to conclude that community/risk group testing was more effective than suspect or contact testing in COVID-19 surveillance in Western Oromia towns, Ethiopia, and targeting risk group for testing can improve the effectiveness of CO VID-19 Surveillance in settings where mass testing is not feasible.

Optimal Subsidies for Prevention of Infectious Disease

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors integrate a standard epidemiological model with an economic model of consumer and producer behavior to find that the equilibrium steady state marginal externality is non-monotonic in disease transmissiblity, peaking when the disease is just transmissible enough to survive in steady-state.
