On the role of promoters in hydrogenations on metals; α,β-unsaturated aldehydes and ketones

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors suggest a model of surfaces active in selective hydrogenation of unsaturated aldehydes, based on the information available in the literature on the adsorptions through the C-C and C-O groups, together with the information on the catalytic behaviour of the promoter-free and promoted catalysts.
Journal ArticleDOI

State of tin in Pt-Sn/Al2O3 reforming catalysts investigated by TPR and chemisorption

H Lieske, +1 more
- 01 Nov 1984 -
TL;DR: In this article, the state of tin in Pt-Sn Al 2 O 3 was investigated by temperature-programmed reduction (TPR) and adsorption of H2 and of O2.
Journal ArticleDOI

Propane dehydrogenation on PtSn/ZSM-5 catalyst: Effect of tin as a promoter

TL;DR: In this article, a PtSn/ZSM-5 catalyst with different amounts of Sn was prepared for propane dehydrogenation and it was found that the addition of Sn not only had a geometric effect, but also changed the interfacial character between metal and support.
Journal ArticleDOI

Metal Redispersion Strategies for Recycling of Supported Metal Catalysts: A Perspective

TL;DR: In this paper, several methods to reverse the sintering process by redispersing metal nanoparticles have been developed, and these methods are discussed in this perspective, and the reported mechanisms of redispersion are summarized.
Journal ArticleDOI

Surface organometallic chemistry on metals: a novel and effective route to custom-designed bimetallic catalysts

TL;DR: In this paper, the synthesis, characterization and catalytic properties of new materials obtained by reaction of organometallic complexes of groups IIb, IVa, and VIa with the surface of metallic particles are reviewed.

Mössbauer Spectroscopy

TL;DR: The Mössbauer Effect Methodology as mentioned in this paper is a well-known method for nuclear power analysis and it has been used extensively in the nuclear power research community, e.g., in the first Symposium.
Journal ArticleDOI

Surface study of platinum-tin bimetallic reforming catalysts

TL;DR: In this article, a series of platinum-tin catalysts with various platinum (0.35%) and tin contents have been effected at 450 °C and 23 °C using a microbalance.
Journal ArticleDOI

A study of the 119Sn mössbauer isomer shifts in some platinum-tin and gold-tin alloys

TL;DR: In this article, the 119Sn isomer shifts at room temperature in some Pt-Sn and Au-Sn alloys have been measured and attributed to the lower number of valence s-electrons per atom for platinum compared to that for gold.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mößbauerspektrometrische und katalytische Untersuchungen am System PtSnη‐Al2O3

TL;DR: In this paper, a reduzierten PtSnAl2O3-Katalysatoren werden bei verschiedener Herstellungsweise unterschiedlich starke Wechselwirkungen zwischen Platin und Zinn beobachtet.

Activation of hydrogen on Fe/MgO catalysts studied by magnetic methods and mössbauer spectroscopy

TL;DR: In this paper, two activation processes of H2 were observed, at room temperature and above 470 K, according to the reversible redox scheme Fen+ + nHadsFe+ nH+, with n probably equal to 2.
