TLDR
In this paper, the mass, momentum and energy balance equations for two-dimensional natural convective flow in a tilted rectangular porous material saturated with fluid are analyzed by solving numerically the mass and momentum equations, using Darcy's law and the Boussinesq approximation.

Entropy generation for natural convection in an inclined porous cavity

TL;DR: In this paper, the issue of entropy generation in a tilted saturated porous cavity for laminar natural convection heat transfer is analyzed by solving numerically the mass, momentum and energy balance equations, using Darcy's law and Boussinesq-incompressible approximation.

Free convection in oblique enclosures filled with a porous medium

TL;DR: In this article, the steady-state free convection within an inclined cavity filled with a fluid-saturated porous medium is studied, where the inclined walls are maintained at constant but different temperatures, while the horizontal walls are adiabatic.

Free Convection in a Square Cavity Filled with a Porous Medium Saturated by Nanofluid Using Tiwari and Das’ Nanofluid Model

TL;DR: In this article, the Tiwari and Das model with new more realistic empirical correlations for the physical properties of the nanofluids has been used for numerical analysis and the governing equations have been solved numerically on the basis of a second-order accurate finite difference method.

Magnetohydrodynamic free convection and entropy generation in a square porous cavity

TL;DR: In this paper, the problem of entropy generation in a fluid saturated porous cavity for laminar magnetohydrodynamic natural convection heat transfer is analyzed in terms of dimensionless Nusselt number (Nu), entropy generation number (Ns), and Bejan number (Be), respectively.

Convection of a fluid in a porous medium

E. R. Lapwood
TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that under certain conditions convective flow may occur in fluid which permeates a porous stratum and is subject to a vertical temperature gradient, on the assumption that the flow obeys Darcy's law.

Steady free convection in a porous medium heated from below

TL;DR: In this paper, an experimental and numerical study of steady free convection in a porous medium, a system dominated by a single nonlinear process, the advection of heat, is presented.

Convection in a porous cavity

TL;DR: In this paper, the Darcy-Rayleigh number R and the cavity aspect ratio A were used to obtain the approximate solutions for shallow cavities, A → 0, by using matched asymptotic expansions up to O(A6R4).
